Please Pray for Provision

Posted by pastorjoe under: Updates.

As you know, we have seen the Lord’s provision in amazing ways over the past few years! Now, we are seeking His help once again. As this roof project winds down, we are weighing our options to determine the best way to finish paying for it. Amazingly, the Lord has already supplied nearly $70,000 of the $93,000 needed (in just 2 1/2 years)! Now we are praying that the Lord will supply the rest and soon. Our desire would be to pay off the difference without any loan. We realize that this may not be His will, so we are planning for the contingency of a small loan. Please pray with us that our God will supply this need as we are confident that He will. Below is a graphic which we will update periodically to keep you informed of the progress. Thank you for your friendship toward and prayers for us and this ministry. We are ever grateful for all of you!

The Roof Is Nearly Finished!

Posted by pastorjoe under: Updates.

Lord willing, our roof project will be completed by Christmas! We have seen His hand in every stage of this process. It has certainly not gone as we would have chosen, and we have certainly had our share of disappointments, but we praise the Lord that His Way Is Perfect! Here are some more pictures of the progress:

The Lord Provided Help from the South!

Posted by pastorjoe under: Uncategorized; Updates.

As we began our long-awaited roof project back in the month of November, the Lord allowed us to receive some much needed help from our friends in the Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. On Wednesday morning, November 5th, a team of six men and one lady arrived to help with anything and everything that week. And, boy, did we need their help more than we realized! Just as they arrived the rain began to pour down. The storm had not been forecast, it blew up quickly, and it stayed nearly the entire week. Without their help we would not have been able to handle the rain or the resulting work. The Lord’s timing is always perfect! We praise the Lord for their gracious and generous spirits. Not only were they a great help, but their fellowship was truly a blessing, too. We praise the Lord for these fellow-believers who sacrificed to help us serve the Lord here.

We Have a Permit . . . Finally!

Posted by pastorjoe under: Updates.

Today, we have been rejoicing and praising the Lord over the news that we were finally granted a construction permit from the City of Wildwood Construction Office! Back in July, we voted to move forward with plans to put a full roof (with attic) over our existing flat-roofed fellowship hall and Sunday School wing. Our plan was to have the roof project finished by the end of August, but the Lord had different plans. Due to changes in regulations combined with very strict interpretations of construction laws by local officials, we could not seem to get a permit issued to us. For the past several months we have waited and prayed . . . prayed and waited. Finally, I received a call yesterday informing me that our permit was approved and ready to be picked up! Praise the Lord for His provision! Now, we pray that He continues to lead in the building project, and that all goes smoothly from here on.

Pastor Joe Is Now Ordained!

Posted by pastorjoe under: Updates.

On June 29th, our church had the joy of ordaining Pastor Joe to the Gospel ministry! Though he has been preaching for several years now and has been involved in several ministries over that time, there have always been others in line to be ordained before him. So, several months ago our leadership began inviting men to come and sit on an examining council to question Pastor concerning his conversion, calling, doctrine, and practice. The council, made up of local pastors as well as friends and family from as far away as Guam, convened on Saturday morning June 28th. The council voted unanimously to recommend that the church proceed with ordination, and on Sunday afternoon June 29th a special ordination service was held. We praise the Lord for His leading and working in us and in our Pastor!

Teen Mission Work Weekend

Posted by pastorjoe under: Updates.

Recently, the teens of Northfield Baptist Church (Northfield, NJ) came to serve our church for a night and a day. They worked hard on several service projects around the church on Friday night, June 13th, and were a great blessing as they worked alongside many of our faithful people who came to a workday on Saturday, June 14th. We praise the Lord for all the help that He sent, for all the work that He allowed us to accomplish in these two days, and for the great time of fellowship He gave us with our brothers and sisters from Northfield!

Drama Team Was a Great Blessing!

Posted by pastorjoe under: Updates.

Last Friday night, the BJU Summer Drama Team came and ministered to our congregation, and what a blessing they were! The drama was certainly a challenge and an encouragement, but the time we had to fellowship with them on a personal level really proved to be a “shot in the arm” for all of us. Kristi and I especially enjoyed our time with Jim and Jenny Wetterlund, and look forward to hearing what the Lord will do with them in the days to come. We praise the Lord for putting together this amazing evening for our church!

Gene and Rita’s Grandson Going to West Point!

Posted by pastorjoe under: Announcements.

In Friday’s edition of the Press Extra, Gene and Rita Sanguinetti, longtime attenders of our church, were featured in a wonderful article praising their grandson, Eric, for his recent accomplishments and his acceptance into West Point. You can read the article in it’s entirety here: http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/181/story/164558.html. Congratulations are certainly in order for Eric and his family.
